Spring Styling

The days are getting longer, the weather is getting (marginally) warmer and the shelves are filling up with Easter eggs – that’s right, spring is on its way. Soon it will be time to ditch the dark, wintery colours and bring a fresh change or splash of colour to your house. It’s all about beautiful blues and natural greens with nature-inspired floral patterns this spring. With so many great ideas to brighten up your home, it’s time to embrace the forthcoming season and get redecorating, whatever your style.

For many of us, redecorating is always on our to-do list but we never quite get around to doing it, but rejuvenating your home doesn’t have to mean spending a small fortune and living in a building site for a month. It can be as simple as a coat of paint, with a few seasonal accents to give a space a new lease of life. A great idea to instantly rejuvenate any space without too much fuss is to replace one piece of furniture. You’ll be surprised how much of a difference such a simple change can make.

Sometimes, it seems a shame to get rid of old furniture that’s still in great condition, so instead of attempting to fit your sofa into your tiny car to get to the tip (we’ve all been there and trust me, it isn’t going to happen), why not donate your old furniture to charity? Furniture Donation Network will come and collect any unwanted furniture in very good condition for free, and as a not-for-profit organisation, 100% of our revenue goes to charity. It is also part of the Recycling Lives group, which sustains the Recycling Lives social welfare charity, helping homeless and unemployed individuals to get their lives back on track with employment, accommodation and support. This is just one of the many charities which can directly benefit from your old furniture, by either selling it in a charity shop or donating it to low-income families. What’s more, our services are environmentally sustainable, and we are committed to diverting waste from landfill.

So if you can give your house a refreshing spring makeover whilst donating unwanted items to a great charity, what’s stopping you? Simply tell us where you are and the high quality items you want to donate at www.furnituredonationnetwork.org and one of our collection partners will arrange a collection time which is convenient for you.

Alternatively, if you have furniture and other household items which have seen better days, try our sister collection scheme, Bulky Waste at www.bulkywaste.org.

With just a few small changes, you can take a step towards spring and bring a fresh feel to your home, whilst donating your unwanted furniture to deserving charities.
