Car Donation Network is launched!

Thursday, August 18th, 2011

The leading recycler and social welfare charity behind Furniture Donation Network is pleased to announce the launch of its latest national charity project!

The Car Donation Network website makes donating a car to charity easy!

Recycling Lives’ newest charity scheme, Car Donation Network, allows UK car owners to donate their unwanted vehicle to a charity of their choice. The charity service lets car owners arrange a collection for their unwanted vehicle in just a few clicks.

Bookings are completely free and are made via the simple online system on the Car Donation Network website. Motorists can choose a date to suit them and can simply sit back, relax and wait while Car Donation Network handles the rest.

Cars donated to the scheme are resold or scrapped to get the best price and 100% of the profits from the vehicle are donated to a charity of the car-owner’s choice.

Car Donation Network is unique. Not only are 100% of the profits from every vehicle the organisation receives donated to charity, the scheme is also run by a registered charity.

Recycling Lives is an award-winning social welfare charity that helps homeless and unemployed people back into work, by offering them accommodation, training, work experience and employment opportunities. Car Donation Network is Recycling Lives’ third “Community Dotcom” scheme and joins Furniture Donation Network and Bulky Waste as an automated, charity-led service for UK householders run by Recycling Lives.

Car Donation Network processes your car to make the most for your charity!

Recycling Lives began life over 40 years ago as a scrap metal merchant and, over the years, has diversified its operations to become one of the leading recyclers in the region. The organisation has won numerous awards, including a Queen’s Award in 2010 for Enterprise in Sustainable Development, and prides itself on developing self-sustaining, commercial services that have direct benefits for charities.

The organisation’s expertise in scrap metal processing means that it is able to make the most of every donated vehicle it receives and maximise the profits that charities receive via Car Donation Network.

As Car Donation Network launches this week, its first official charity Breast Cancer Care has already taken the opportunity to upload a profile to the website in the hope that generous UK car-owners will consider donating their old vehicles to them.

Another great thing about Car Donation Network is that customers can donate a car to any charity they choose. If the organisation doesn’t already have a profile on the site, customers simply enter their name and Car Donation Network will get in touch with the charity to arrange the donation personally.

Founder of Furniture Donation Network and Car Donation Network, Steve Jackson

Creator of Car Donation Network, Bulky Waste and Recycling Lives, Steve Jackson, said:

“We’re absolutely thrilled that Car Donation Network is up and running now. Recycling Lives is a charity for charities – our Community Dotcom schemes are here to generate revenue not only for our charity but for other great not-for-profit organisations across the country.

“In these difficult financial times, the people of the UK need new ways to help charities. Not everyone can afford to dip into their pocket and make a traditional donation. By combining our business knowledge and our charitable aims, we’ve found a number of ways that householders can make a difference without spending any more.

“We really hope that, when the time comes for people to get rid of their old car, they’ll think about what a difference it could make to a charity and use Car Donation Network to make that difference.”
